Empower yourself through the art and science of yoga, movement, and holistic technologies. We believe that every one of us has the right to live a full and present life, and that it starts with taking responsibility for our body, mind, and spirit. We strive to create a safe space for all who enter our doors, and to provide a supportive home for healing and transformation.

Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all — it includes your physical health, your mental and spiritual well-being, and the strength of your community connections. In today’s busy world, taking care of yourself takes intention. Your body, mind, spirit and relationships are deeply interconnected — when one aspect is suffering, they all suffer. And when one is nourished, the others benefit too.
That’s why we offer a range of practices and experiences to support you at every step of your wellness journey. Whether it’s through yoga, aikido, personal coaching, or one of our community events, we’re here to help you feel stronger, more grounded, and more connected.
Sixth House Studio has been offering yoga and wellness services since 2020. Una, Joe, and Alex purchased the business in 2025 and added aikido to the mix.
Are drop-in’s ok or do I need to pre-register?
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. We are a small studio and don’t have dedicated front desk staff. We are generally only open for scheduled classes and events, opening up for students approximately 15 minutes before each class and closing approximately 15 minutes after a class ends. Teachers may lock the studio door during classes at their discretion.
Where should I park?
There is street parking available on 6th Street in front of the studio and on surrounding streets. We have quarters available for the parking meters--just ask at the front desk.
Street parking is free after 6 PM and on the weekends.
There are several one and two hour free parking spots available on Louisiana Street near 6th, just 1/2 block from the studio.
There is also a pay parking lot directly across the street from the studio.
Does the studio have a changing room?
We have a bathroom that you are welcome to use to change clothes and freshen up.
Does the studio have yoga mats available?
Yes, we have yoga mats available for student use. We do not currently charge a mat rental fee.
You are welcome to bring your own mat, but if you forget or don't have one, we've got you covered!
Why do you always serve green tea?
Because we like it!
Several years ago Una and Joe decided to cut back on their caffeine consumption, including regular coffee. Instead they turned to green tea. After experimenting with many different varieties, they found genmaicha, a traditional Japanese form of green tea that includes toasted rice kernels, and has a smooth mellow flavor. We use an organic genmaicha blend in the studio.
Green tea offers a wide array of health benefits due to its rich antioxidant content. These benefits include improved brain function, potential weight management, reduced risk of certain cancers and heart disease, and support for healthy blood sugar levels.
In addition to being delicious and health-promoting, the practice of drinking tea before or after a class provides a chance to pause and connect both with yourself and others. So enjoy a cup of tea, and say hi to your teacher or another student. Community is built one connection at a time, and sharing tea is a great place to start.
I'm new to yoga. Where should I start?
Welcome! As a new yoga student we want you to feel supported as you begin your journey.
All of our classes are open to all levels, however, here are some guidelines to keep in mind.
The Chair Yoga classes and the Iyengar Hatha Yoga classes are the most approachable for brand new students, especially those who may be dealing with physical limitations, injuries, or who are new to a regular movement practice.
The Sunrise Flow and Slow Flow classes are great to jump in on if you like to figure things out as you go.
The Power Yoga classes are the most challenging and are not recommended for brand new students.
You are welcome to book a private yoga session to get started one-on-one.
I’m interested in teaching a class or event at Sixth House. What’s the best way to run it by you?
Wonderful! We’d love to hear about your idea. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM, and we will get back to you.
Can I rent out the studio for my own event / workshop / photoshoot / sound recording / etc?
Yes, the studio is available for rental on a limited basis. Please CONTACT US to inquire.
